Jennifer Arnold, Ph.D
Director of Business Development
Dr. Jennifer Arnold leads the Firm`s Business Development Team. Jennifer works closely with MBM`s Board of Directors and is responsible for the overall execution and successful implementation of the Firm’s strategy for Client Relationship Management. She also consults with practice groups as well as individual legal professionals to identify marketing opportunities, analyze market intelligence and provide strategic counsel, manages external communications and branding initiatives. Jenifer’s role is integral to maintaining our top market position by defining organization strategic goals, building key customer relationships and negotiating with new clients. She brings strong client relations skills and extensive knowledge of industry market conditions to her client interactions.
Jennifer`s practice focuses on the prosecution of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, cell biology and molecular biology patent applications in Canada and around the world. She has an extensive research background in pharmacology and neuroscience with a focus on cell to cell signalling and signal transduction cascades which are involved in multiple disease states including cancer, epilepsy, neurodegenerative disorders, mental illness and drug addiction. Jennifer also has experience in the area of novel drug development and testing, regulatory affairs and GLP.
Prior to joining MBM, Jennifer worked as a lecturer at the University of Ottawa, Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Immunology, teaching Metabolism and Signal Transduction. Following completion of two postdoctoral NSERC fellowships, Jennifer became Director of Preclinical Drug Development for a small pharmaceutical company and was responsible for all cell culture and animal testing of the drug pipeline in preparation for preclinical trials and regulatory submission.
