Heather Gallant, Ph.D.

Heather’s practice involves procurement of IP rights, defence and assertion activities (including litigation), and negotiating and drafting licenses and various other agreements relating to intellectual property. Her clients range from individuals and small and medium-sized enterprises, to multinational corporations, public agencies, government departments and educational institutions.

Heather’s scientific background is rooted in clinical laboratory medicine and pharmaceutical toxicology, including therapeutic drug monitoring, clinical and experimental pharmacokinetic modelling, identification and characterization of novel drug metabolites, in vitro toxicological techniques and drug receptor/target affinity studies.

Prior to law school and joining MBM, Heather worked in academic research and for several years in the field of university technology transfer, gaining experience with research funding structures and innovation policy in Canada.

Heather is a registered Trade-mark Agent in Canada.
