Ming joined MBM’s Vancouver office in February 2024 as a Patent Agent Trainee.

Ming is a seasoned foreign patent agent with extensive experience in intellectual property law, holding credentials as a US patent practitioner and a PRC patent attorney. His expertise, developed over more than nine years, and cover various technical fields such as mechanical engineering, electronics, and computer-implemented technologies. Ming’s professional background includes active roles in both North America and Asia, where he has been responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications, conducting in-depth patent searches, and providing strategic advice on patentability and infringement issues.

Educated in Canada and abroad, Ming possesses a Master of Law in Information Technology and Intellectual Property Law and a Bachelor of Engineering Science in Mechanical Engineering. His career has involved collaborations with multinational companies, governmental bodies, and educational institutions, managing and protecting intellectual property across multiple jurisdictions, including the US, Hong Kong, China, and under the European Patent Convention. His bilingual capabilities in English and Chinese enable him to effectively navigate different cultural and legal frameworks, enhancing his ability to handle complex intellectual property cases with multinational dimensions.

In his spare time, Ming enjoys biking through scenic trails, wild camping, and undertaking home improvement projects to enhance his living space.
