Louis Allard, Ph.D.

Senior Patent Agent

Louis joined MBM in April of 2022. He is a highly experienced patent agent with expertise in drafting and prosecuting patent applications worldwide. He is a registered Canadian Patent Agent and is also registered to represent Canadian patent applicants before the Unites States Patent and Trademark Office.

Louis's technical knowledge includes photovoltaics, quantum semiconductor devices, nuclear reactors, irradiation-based sterilization equipment, optical polarization, mobile devices, computer-implemented inventions, food preparation equipment, physical rehabilitation equipment, wastewater treatment systems, sterilization equipment, medical devices, heat exchangers, beverage dispensers, windows and doors, ophthalmology devices and horticulture systems.

Louis is also experienced in the preparation of patentability, infringement, and invalidity opinions.

In a previous career, Louis was a designer for optical measurement and control instruments. During this period, he was an inventor on four US patents.

Outside of work, Louis enjoys playing guitar in a jazz quartet and bass fishing.
